CHALLENGE
In the aftermath of the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, a leading retailor in grocery shopping wanted to execute their annual planning. The market was highly volatile, and it was extremely difficult to predict the future shopper trends in the category
APPROACH
- Using existing macro data, we created 3 potential future market scenarios
- In collaboration with the client, we shortlisted the most likely scenario
- Presented the scenario to the shopper in a consumer facing statement to gauge feedback
IMPACT
- The study was able to capture high level behaviour and attitudinal changes taking place in the category which were key to financial planning
- At the tactical level the study provided many executional ideas for the client to consider in the short run
