Quantum Consumer Solutions – quantum is at singapore design week

Quantum is excited to share that for the first time we will be participating at Singapore Design Week (SDW) 2019. It is a great honour to be selected to connect with Singapore’s diverse and talented community through design. We are conducting two workshops along with our partner Analogy.

The workshops are:

Trust and Transparency A design workshop to devise strategies for trust in a post-digital age

Quantum and Analogy present a first of its kind workshop aimed at developing strategies to build mechanisms of trust and transparency into everyday lives.

As we enter a post-digital world where machines are beginning to think and act like humans, injecting trust into transactions, communication and objects is becoming more critical.

Public participants are invited to connect, immerse and collaborate via a design workshop that will take a first step in devising new ways for the human & machine interaction to be made more trusting and transparent.

Analogy and Quantum bring unique skills to this conversation. Analogy’s expertise in product and service design and Quantum’s specialist approach to insights and strategy will allow the audience to tackle the challenge of opacity in various forms of human-machine-data interaction.

Landscape of Loneliness A strategy workshop to design for urban loneliness

Loneliness is one of the leading public health challenges of our time. Various research reports suggest that people across demographics and geographies express feeling lonely, lack companionship or feel left out and isolated. Some researchers in Scotland even go as far as to say that being lonely is as damaging to health as smoking 15 cigarettes per day.

Our design workshop invites members of the public to participate in an immersive event that sheds light on ordinary moments of loneliness, which are extracted from the lived realities of people like you and me. These contexts are geared towards triggering an empathetic response, which will be used to craft first level observations and discoveries that will create a visual look-book to be shared with participants as well as key stakeholders within Singapore Design Week and policy makers.

The language of insights and strategy is spoken commonly between Analogy and Quantum, both of whom believe that only deep and meaningful insights can lead to consequential strategies and design. Our aim in this workshop is not to forge a silver bullet that solves the wicked problem of loneliness, but to shed a light on its occurrence and attempt first level, crowdsourced strategies.

About Singapore Design Week

Now into its 6th edition, the Singapore Design Week (SDW) 2019 is being held from 4 to 17 March 2019. SDW brings together a collection of local and international design activities in Singapore. Organised by the DesignSingapore Council, the SDW is open to the design community, businesses, design students, public sector officers and the general public.

As one of Asia’s premier design festivals, SDW champions design thought leadership by bringing together the design, business and public policy worlds to bring about innovation and solutions to build businesses, engage communities and enrich people’s lives. It is a hub where the best design talents and businesses from Singapore and Asia converge to be showcased to the world; and a platform where Singaporeans and visitors can experience the value of design through delightful activities.

Through SDW, the Council hopes to enhance the synergy among our design partners, and in turn boost Singapore’s profile and attractiveness as a global city for design.
